Pile Cleaning – Vantage Building Group (Underground Car Park)
Project Snapshot
Service: Industrial Pile Cleaning & Shotcrete Preparation
Location: Commercial Construction Site, Sunshine Coast
Property Type: Large-Scale Commercial (Underground Car Park)
Problem: Piles dug 10m deep were covered in heavy earth and residue. To prevent groundwater from leaking into the future car park, these piles required a perfectly clean surface for the "shotcrete" barrier to bond correctly.
Duration: Approximately 30 hours total (Stage 1: 10 hours; Stage 2: 20 hours).
Equipment Specs: Industrial 4000 PSI at 32L/min, utilising specialised Single and Dual Turbo Head nozzles.
The Technical Challenge:
This wasn't a standard wash. This was critical structural preparation. Working in stages as the site was excavated, we cleaned the first 3.5m of piles, followed by the remaining 6–7m at the lowest basement level. By running 32 liters of water per minute at 4000 PSI, we stripped away the "dirty" concrete and mud, exposing a clean surface. This ensures the shotcrete (sprayed concrete) creates an airtight, waterproof seal against the ground, protecting the building’s foundation for decades.
Outcome:
A perfectly prepared substrate ready for immediate shotcreting. While the client originally considered renting equipment and using general laborers, they quickly realized the value of professional expertise. We delivered a faster, deeper clean that saved the site manager significant time and ensured the structural integrity of the water barrier.
